Well! What a year! 2015 was certainly a highlight for me meeting some amazing couples, photographing weddings in beautiful locations and working on the start of my #PrettyWedProject. I’m blown away by how authentic, down to earth and fun my clients have been and the hard work of Canberra region vendors to create some amazing styled shoots that have been featured in White Magazine, Big Ink and Truly and Madly.
Here are my top photographs for 2015…
A Mississippi Wedding
When I was asked whether I could come all the way to Oxford, Mississippi by Canberra couple Paul and Jen, I couldn’t resist. Travel and destination wedding photography are a huge passion for me as it allows me to think quick, think creatively in new surroundings and tell a very personalised story for a couple of their wedding journey. It was an absolute pleasure to photograph these two get married in the USA on a balmy summer day, which makes this one of my top wedding photography trips of 2015!
This little styled shoot was shot out at one of Canberra’s top wedding locations, Poachers Pantry. With hair by local hairstylist Kirstin Pierpoint and model Tahlia Jane, I just love the feel of this romantic, old world shoot with delicate carnations and whimsical vintage dresses.
One of my favorite wedding images of this year came from Angeline and Aaron’s traditional Zimbabwean wedding reception at Albert Hall, Canberra. The amount of pure joy, love and fantastic singing was truly something at this wedding, but nothing compared to the amazing dancing! I always find the joy of dancing can be difficult to capture in one image but with this one, I think I got pretty close!
This collaboration for 2015 White Magazine could not have been possible without some very talented Canberra wedding vendors joining in. This shoot started with an idea between Lou from Canberra florist Moxom and Whitney to creative a new look of bohemian wedding inspiration to be published. We had other creatives such as Tess from Style My Aisle, Lauren from Shakespeare’s Cakesphere, Made with Love Bridal, Beska Bridal, D&d Letterpress and Seasons Wedding Films. I love this shoot too much to just post one image, so here are 3…
As one of my first projects for the #PrettyWedProject, I was fortunate enough to work with Pialligo Estate and Anna Campbell Couture to create this stunning shoot titled ‘Bold Blooms’. As Pialligo Estate is quickly becoming one of Canberra’s top wedding locations (not to mention they only launched having weddings in 2015) they were keen to set the standard of how beautiful weddings can be throughout the grounds. Working with a super talented Canberra wedding florist and stylist, Laurel and Lace – we created a Canberra spring wedding wonderland full of beautiful poppies and roses in over the top whimsical bridal bouquets, floral installations and table center pieces.
One of my final 2015 weddings was this epic 2 day wedding with Emily and Nitish at Pialligo Estate. With a 2 hour hindu ceremony in the morning followed by a beautiful Australian wedding and reception at Pialligo Estate it was certainty a long day filled with love, laughter and family! A shout out to Field & Coppice who provided the beautiful florals for this wedding.
Nothing like finishing of the 2015 highlights with one of my favourite shots from my final wedding of the year, Sophie and Ben!
