WILDWOOD PART 1
Last week I had the absolute pleasure of seeing my work featured with White Magazine (see the post here). It came from many months of planning this special bridal inspiration shoot and collaborating with amazing local and interstate wedding businesses.
It all came about after walking into Moxom and Whitney (amazing totally awesome flower ninjas) one day and suddenly found myself in a brainstorming session with Loulou for an awesome shoot involving flower crowns and headpieces, whimsical dreamy outfits and a bit of gypsy boho vibe.
Putting the call out to other amazing talented Canberra wedding vendors, it was not long until Tess from Style My Aisle and Lauren from Shakespeares Cakesphere joined in the creative process! With such an enchanting location such as the Cork Oak forest at the National Arboretum Canberra it became more exciting by the minute as other amazing talented designers came on board. Made with Love Bridal gave the beautiful ‘Lilly’ dress, a lace cropped Bohemian inspired outfit for this first part of the shoot. D&d letterpress created whimsical, old fashion letterpress stationary to fit in with the theme of the shoot. The invites, menus, table numbers and place cards were all custom designed and hand made.
The dress was made so beautifully, and fitted perfectly into the aesthetics of the shoot. Meekz Contemporary Jewellery was one of two jewellery designers to lend pieces for this shoot. Meekz Contemporary Jewellery specialises in hand made earrings, bracelets and cuffs with owner Jemica drawing inspiration from nature, the urban built environment, society and design, geometric form and costume and fashion jewellery.
Our second Jewellery designer was from Bridget Bunchy, whose work is also handcrafted and inspired by Bohemian raw elements including wood, leather and rustic textiles. Isabella from Bridget Bunchy created some one-of-a-kind necklaces featuring leather and drop feathers which went perfectly with the Lilly dress.
Kirstin Pierpoint did a fantastic job of hair, to keep along the gypsy vibe of the shoot, whilst Eleanor Eve (model) was the perfect person to bring our creatives to life!
With such a beautiful shoot planned, I knew I had to capture this in motion. I couldn’t think of anyone better then Adam from Seasons Wedding Films to do this. Conveying my ideas of the style of video, I left it up to Adam who did the most perfect job!
A big thanks also to Lauren Gibson for assisting me on the day and the National Arboretum Canberra for hosting us! Stay tuned for Part 2 of this gorgeous shoot and also a behind the scenes look!
